Districts and Zones

Washington State is divided into four districts.
Each district is comprised of zones.

Zones are a great way to get involved at the local level. Most Zones have meetings on a regular basis. It's an opportunity for you to meet people who all have a common interest. Most of the Zones also have active Youth Merit groups for all the kids in their area. Many of the Zones also have main contacts for all the Divisions so its a way to get information and your questions answered. Many of the Zones also offer Zone Awards that are in addition to the many State Awards that are offered.

District 1

  • Olympic Zone-Counties of Clallam and Jefferson

  • Canal Zone-Kitsap County and the Northern part of Pierce County
    • Contact: Sharon Call 360-871-2953 Meetings are 2nd Tuesday of each month except December at 7:00 p.m.
  • Pacific Zone-Counties of Wahkiakum, Pacific, Grays Harbor, and Mason
    • Contact: Kathi Dahlstrom 360-532-0141 or Ellen Foscue 360-249-3667. Meetings are March 24, May 19, July 28, Sept 22, Oct 27 Meetings start at 7:30 p.m.
  • Prairie Zone-Counties of Lewis and Thurston
    • Contact-Georgina Fair 360-943-6191 or Willie Hansen 360-264-4043. Meetings are the 1st Tuesday of every month except July and August at 6:00 p.m.. Meetings are held at Nickelbys Restaurant in Tumwater.
  • Puget Sound Zone-Pierce County
    • Contact-Teri Blair 253-537-1486. Meetings are the 3rd Thursday of every month except November and December at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are held at Krickett's Restaurant in Spanaway.
  • Southwest Border Zone-Counties of Clark, Cowlitz, and Skamania
    • Contact-Anna Patterson 360-578-9839 for dates and locations of meetings.

District 2

  • Northeast Zone-Counties of Steven, Spokane, Lincoln, Whitman, and Ferry
    • Contact Richard Parnell 509-276-6725. Meetings are the 1st Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Crossroads Restaurant on the corner of Freya and Trent. No meetings June, July or August.
  • North Central Zone-Counties of Chelan, Grant, Okanogan, Adams, Douglas and Moses Lake

District 3

  • Zone One-Counties of Kittitas, Yakima and Klickitat
    • Contact Nea Welch at 509-452-3719. Meetings are the 1st Wednesday of each month at Magic's Pizza in Selah at 7:15 p.m.
  • South Central Zone-Counties of Benton, Franklin, Columbia, Walla Walla, Garfield and Asotin

District 4

  • Cascade Zone-King County South of I-90

  • Evergreen Zone-Snohomish County and King County North of I-90
    • Contact Deb Lemeshko 425-485-7599 Meetings are held the first Thursday of the month March through July and September and October at Alfies Pizza in Snohomish. Meetings start at 7:00 p.m. No meetings in February or August. More information for Evergreen Zone can be obtained by going to www.evergreenzone.org
  • Northwest Border Zone-Counties of Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan, and Island
